F1 anti-roll bars explained

When it works

In a corner, the outside suspension compresses more than the inside. The bar twists against that difference and adds roll stiffness to the axle.

Handling balance

Changing relative front and rear roll stiffness affects how readily each axle uses its grip, helping engineers tune understeer and oversteer.

Kerb trade-off

A stiff link controls the platform but can make one wheel disturb the other over uneven surfaces. Street circuits may demand a different compromise from smooth tracks.
